My stay at Imperial Courtyard was a charming dive into traditional Beijing, complete with its lovely courtyard feel and Chinese lanterns. The location nestled in a Hutong area was convenient, especially being close to the subway. However, the age of the building made it a bit noisy at times, which was a challenge for my light-sleeping girlfriend. Overall, it was a nice experience that embraced authentic local culture. 😊🏮

Rooms
7.0
The rooms surround a central courtyard and feature traditional Chinese decor, though the first bathroom I had was quite average compared to the second. The linens and complimentary toiletries were clean, making it comfortable for my stay.
Service
6.0
The hotel staff were friendly and accommodated most of my needs, especially during breakfast and when asking for help navigating the city. However, I was disappointed by the evening receptionists when they couldn’t assist with alternative hotel recommendations when I wanted to extend my stay.
Location
8.0
The hotel is tucked away in a Hutong area, which initially felt daunting, but I quickly appreciated its proximity to the subway, making it easy to explore Beijing. The location added to the authentic experience, even if the surrounding neighborhood seemed rough at first.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast offered a decent selection that suited my Western palate, including good sausages and acceptable bacon and eggs, but the portion of cornflakes was a bit underwhelming. I learned to order additional fruit and yogurt to complement my meal.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had basic facilities like laundry and dry cleaning, but I found the lack of information regarding the other hotel's availability to be a missed opportunity for better service.

I had a good two-night stay at Imperial Courtyard. The location is superb, nestled in the charming hutong area and just a short walk to the subway. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, I did notice some areas where cleanliness could improve. Overall, it’s a great choice for those wanting to experience traditional Beijing! 😊

I had a mix of experiences during my stay. The traditional decor and cleanliness impressed me, but my interactions with the service were disappointing, particularly regarding communication about my tour details.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and had a nice traditional Chinese decor with windows overlooking the internal courtyard, though I experienced some noise issues due to being next to the staff sleeping area.
Service
5.0
While the staff were friendly, communication issues led to confusion about tour arrangements, and reception did not seem to be well-informed on their procedures.
Location

The hotel is located in an interesting Hutong area, very close to the subway, which made navigating Beijing quite easy despite being initially hard to find.
Dining

Breakfast was made fresh and on demand, which was a plus, but I had a difficult experience on the tour related to meal arrangements.

I enjoyed the location in the heart of the Hutong, which was perfect for exploring Beijing. But my stay was marred by some issues with service, room cleanliness, and a lack of attention to detail. Overall, I had a mixed experience, which makes me hesitant to recommend it highly.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a nice traditional decor but was noisy and the bathroom was a bit cramped. It didn't have a fridge or safe, and the noise from the courtyard could be bothersome at times.

The staff were friendly and helpful, yet there were significant communication issues regarding our tour, and some receptionists were not well-informed about hotel procedures.

My stay at the Imperial Courtyard was a mixed bag. The quaint, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff were great, but the cleanliness issues and some communication errors left me feeling underwhelmed. Overall, it had its charm, especially considering the budget-friendly price.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were cozy and decorated in a traditional Chinese style. I didn't mind the smaller size, but I did notice some maintenance issues during my stay. I really appreciated the natural light from the windows facing the courtyard.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating. They helped arrange my tour at the last minute, which was impressive. However, some miscommunication about breakfast and room assignments could be improved.
Location
8.0
The location was fantastic. Nestled in a Hutong and just minutes away from the subway, making it easy to explore Beijing. Despite the construction in the area, it felt like a hidden gem once I entered.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was simple, offering a choice of a few items. It wasn't a buffet, but I enjoyed the American-style options. The coffee surprised me—it was pretty good! Just be mindful of the omits and days when some items might not be available.
Facilities
5.0
Basic facilities, including internet and computers in the lobby. I appreciated the access to tours and laundry services. It could benefit from more thorough daily cleaning, though.
